Student admissions are managed through three primary pathways: <strong data-start=\"542\" data-end=\"590\">Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi (SNBP)<\/strong> or National Selection Based on Academic Achievement, <strong data-start=\"644\" data-end=\"687\">Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes (SNBT)<\/strong> or National Selection Based on Tests, and the <strong data-start=\"734\" data-end=\"772\">UNS Independent Selection (SM-UNS)<\/strong>. The entire process is professionally managed by the UNS New Student Admission Unit (UPT SPMB) under the principles of transparency, accountability, objectivity, and inclusivity.<\/p><p data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"1437\">A distinctive feature of the selection process for the PGSD program is the inclusion of a <strong data-start=\"1043\" data-end=\"1072\">pedagogical aptitude test<\/strong> and an <strong data-start=\"1080\" data-end=\"1112\">essay on teaching motivation<\/strong>. In accordance with <strong data-start=\"1133\" data-end=\"1180\">Dekan&#8217;s Decree No. 1808.1\/UN27.02\/HK 04\/2021<\/strong>, all applicants are required to submit an essay outlining their motivation to become a teacher and their reason for choosing FKIP UNS. This non-cognitive assessment component serves to identify candidates with a genuine calling for the teaching profession.<\/p><p data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1490\">The SM-UNS admission path includes several schemes:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1902\"><li data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1548\"><p data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1548\"><strong data-start=\"1493\" data-end=\"1506\">SMJU-UTUL<\/strong>: Written examination administered by UNS,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1549\" data-end=\"1631\"><p data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1631\"><strong data-start=\"1551\" data-end=\"1564\">SMJU-UTBK<\/strong>: Based on UTBK scores issued by the National Testing Agency (BP3),<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1704\"><p data-start=\"1634\" data-end=\"1704\"><strong data-start=\"1634\" data-end=\"1648\">SMJKI-UTUL<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1667\">SMJKI-UTBK<\/strong>: For international class applicants,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1705\" data-end=\"1737\"><p data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1737\"><strong data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1716\">SMJKM<\/strong>: Partnership scheme,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1738\" data-end=\"1778\"><p data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1778\"><strong data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1748\">SMJP<\/strong>: Achievement-based selection,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1779\" data-end=\"1841\"><p data-start=\"1781\" data-end=\"1841\"><strong data-start=\"1781\" data-end=\"1789\">SMJD<\/strong>: Affirmative action for students with disabilities,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1842\" data-end=\"1902\"><p data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1902\"><strong data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"1852\">SMJK<\/strong>: Religious and community-based affirmative track.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1904\" data-end=\"2242\">Each track has distinct criteria and procedures tailored to diverse applicant profiles. SNBP evaluates academic performance from semesters 1\u20135 (for three-year senior high schools) or semesters 1\u20137 (for four-year vocational schools), while SNBT requires candidates to take the UTBK, which assesses literacy, reasoning, and numeracy skills.<\/p><p data-start=\"2244\" data-end=\"2676\">Admission quotas generally follow national standards: <strong data-start=\"2298\" data-end=\"2314\">30% for SNBP<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"2316\" data-end=\"2332\">40% for SNBT<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2338\" data-end=\"2380\">30% for the independent track (SM-UNS)<\/strong>, although adjustments may occur depending on institutional policies. Final admission decisions are based on a weighted combination of academic records, portfolios, UTBK scores (if applicable), motivational essays, and results from additional evaluations such as interviews for specific pathways.<\/p><p data-start=\"2678\" data-end=\"3138\">This recruitment system not only attracts candidates from various regions and academic backgrounds but also promotes inclusion. For instance, the <strong data-start=\"2824\" data-end=\"2840\">SMJD pathway<\/strong> enables students with disabilities to pursue a professional career in teaching. Overall, PGSD UNS\u2019s admission process is designed to ensure meaningful initial engagement with future teachers who demonstrate integrity, social responsibility, and strong dedication to primary education in Indonesia.<\/p><hr data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3143\" \/><h3 data-start=\"3145\" data-end=\"3199\"><strong data-start=\"3149\" data-end=\"3199\">Quality of Incoming Students in PGSD Surakarta<\/strong><\/h3><p data-start=\"3201\" data-end=\"3720\">Over the past five academic years (TS-4 to TS), the <strong data-start=\"3253\" data-end=\"3291\">input quality of new PGSD students<\/strong> has shown a consistent upward trend, both in terms of applicant volume and selection competitiveness. As presented in <strong data-start=\"3410\" data-end=\"3427\">Table 3.1.2.2<\/strong>, the number of applicants significantly increased from <strong data-start=\"3483\" data-end=\"3507\">2,647 in TS-4 (2019)<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"3511\" data-end=\"3533\">4,746 in TS (2023)<\/strong>. Of these, <strong data-start=\"3995\" data-end=\"4011\">950 students<\/strong> were officially enrolled as new regular students, filling the program&#8217;s capacity to nearly full each year. This resulted in an <strong data-start=\"4139\" data-end=\"4199\">applicant-to-admission ratio exceeding 10% but below 50%<\/strong>, which aligns with accreditation standards regarding program attractiveness and competitiveness.<\/p><p data-start=\"4298\" data-end=\"4952\">The <strong data-start=\"4302\" data-end=\"4343\">cumulative number of regular students<\/strong> over five years reached <strong data-start=\"4368\" data-end=\"4377\">3,087<\/strong>, with stable annual distribution. This indicates that the PGSD program at FKIP UNS remains a <strong data-start=\"4471\" data-end=\"4485\">top choice<\/strong> among prospective primary education students nationwide. The increasing demand reflects both the <strong data-start=\"4583\" data-end=\"4609\">reputation of PGSD UNS<\/strong> and the growing public trust in its academic quality and graduate outcomes.
