Sebelas Maret University (UNS) is one of the universities located in Surakarta, precisely on Jalan Ir. Sutami 36 Kentingan, Jebres. Surakarta Sebelas Maret State University was officially established on March 11, 1976. Initially named the Surakarta Sebelas Maret State University (UNS Sebelas Maret), then the name change was decided based on the Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 55 of 1982, the name was changed to Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS). This A-accredited college now has 1 Vocational School, 11 Faculties, and 1 Postgraduate.

UNS has an integrated main campus in Kentingan, Jebres, Surakarta and has various branch campuses. The UNS PGSD study program is under the auspices of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP). The PGSD FKIP UNS Study Program has two campuses for lectures, namely Campus IV Solo and Campus VI Kebumen. The Solo Campus is located in the Kleco area of ​​the city of Solo, precisely on Jl. Slamet Riyadi No. 449 Surakarta. The strategic location of this campus is close to the development area of ​​basic and secondary education, with easy access to transportation, health, and shopping centers. The material learned during college is certainly inseparable from studies in elementary schools, namely the learning content in elementary schools which will be divided every semester and studies related to local content such as English, Javanese, batik, art and music studies, sports, and other cultures. Many students of the PGSD study program have excelled at local to international levels. The teaching staff owned by PGSD UNS are educators who are experts in each field, this is evidenced by the achievements of the educators who actively produce books every year, research, and community service by involving students. Educational staff in the UNS PGSD Study Program have good quality, this is evidenced by the fact that in 2016 UNS PGSD received an ISO 9001:2008 certificate, this certificate is evidence of international recognition to the UNS PGSD Study Program which states that academic services at the UNS PGSD Study Program have in accordance with international standards, this certificate is supported by an acknowledgment from the National Accreditation Board that the UNS PGSD Campus has been accredited “A” so that both the process and the results of the implementation of lectures at the PGSD Study Program have good quality and quality. Thus, many graduates of the UNS PGSD Study Program immediately get a job according to their field of interest. In addition, the UNS PGSD Study Program also has special advanced programs for the PGSD (S2) and PPG SM3T masters and PPG Regular programs so that graduates of the UNS PGSD S1 program will get quick information about career continuity and of course valid and actual information.
